Humanitarian Services Gift Registry

Local fire departments serve their communities with courage, sacrifice, and dedication every day. Through the Humanitarian Services Gift Registry, the United States Fire Department Reserve Corps (USFDRC) connects donated resources, humanitarian assistance, and community support for local fire departments nationwide. Our mission is to strengthen departments, support those who serve others, and extend meaningful assistance where it is needed most.

Helping Those Who Protect Our Communities

The Humanitarian Services Gift Registry is a charitable initiative designed to assist local fire departments across the United States through donated items, approved resources, and humanitarian support made possible by donors, sponsors, businesses, community partners, and individual supporters.

The program provides a structured, mission-driven way to help departments address identified needs while promoting readiness, resilience, and service to their communities. Through this national effort, the USFDRC strengthens the connection between local fire departments and those who wish to support them through charitable giving and humanitarian action.

OUR PURPOSE:

The Humanitarian Services Gift Registry helps connect charitable donations and humanitarian resources with local fire departments that have identified needs.

This program exists to:

  • Support local fire departments through donated goods and humanitarian resources.
  • Help address identified needs with dignity, professionalism, and compassion.
  • Strengthen departmental readiness, resilience, and community service.
  • Encourage charitable giving and community engagement in support of the fire service.
  • Promote a national spirit of service to those who serve others.

WHO MAY BENEFIT:

Qualifying fire service organizations and department-approved initiatives may be considered, including:

  • Municipal and local fire departments
  • Volunteer fire departments
  • Combination fire departments
  • Fire-rescue agencies
  • Firefighters and support personnel through department-approved programs
  • Department-approved outreach, wellness, family-support, and community initiatives

Support is based on available resources, donor participation, administrative review, verified need, and alignment with program objectives.

Types of Support

Depending on donated resources, partnerships, and registry availability, support may include:

  • Health and wellness items
  • Mental health awareness and resilience materials
  • Community education and outreach materials
  • Office and administrative supplies
  • Training-related resources
  • Humanitarian assistance items
  • Department-approved family and community support materials

Important notice: The type and availability of support will vary. All assistance is subject to administrative review, donor availability and intent, program procedures, and coordination with authorized department leadership.

How the Registry Works

1. Identify a Department Need
An authorized fire department representative identifies a need that may qualify for consideration through the Humanitarian Services Gift Registry.

2. Submit Department Information
The department submits the organizational, contact, and need-related information required for review and coordination.

3. Administrative Review
The USFDRC reviews the request for eligibility, program alignment, available donations, and current registry opportunities. Additional information or verification may be requested.

4. Resource Matching and Coordination
When an appropriate opportunity is available, the USFDRC coordinates with the department regarding verification, eligibility, logistics, and next steps.

5. Distribution of Approved Support
Approved support is coordinated in accordance with donor intent, USFDRC procedures, and applicable administrative requirements.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Fire departments are called upon to meet growing public-safety demands, often while operating with limited resources. Local and volunteer departments may face challenges involving wellness support, educational and outreach materials, training resources, administrative needs, and humanitarian assistance.

Supporting a fire department is an investment in the well-being of its personnel, the strength of the department, and the safety of the community it serves. The effect extends beyond the station: stronger departments help build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.

OUR COMMITMENT

The United States Fire Department Reserve Corps is committed to administering the Humanitarian Services Gift Registry with professionalism, accountability, transparency, and compassion.

We are committed to:

  • Respectful communication with authorized department leadership
  • Transparent administrative review and coordination
  • Mission-driven humanitarian assistance
  • Responsible stewardship of donated goods and resources
  • Strengthening fire departments and communities through service
